Last night was the Aggie Goodtimes Banquet, which was, to be frank, a good time! It’s an awards banquet to celebrate the past year. Everyone gets really dressed up – it’s like Aggie Prom! There were lots of awards given out, including the Cheryl Somerville Memorial Award, the OAC Spirit Award, and the Red Roller Award for best sound board painting.
After dinner and the awards, every Aggie in the place sang “College On The Hill”, the song of the OAC. It’s set to the tune of Glory, Glory Hallelujah. Here’s the chorus:
Glory, Glory to the College on The Hill
Glory, Glory to the fellow with a will
Who plugs with strong devotion
‘Til he’s given his degree
Hurrah for the OAC (By heck!)
After the singing of College On The Hill, the night turned into a party in real Aggie fashion. The drinks started flowing, the music started playing, and everyone had a good time! I met a few OAC alumni from 2013, and even one from the class of 1953! It really was a great night, and I’m so glad that I went. I’m already looking forward to next year’s Goodtimes!
Keep Calm and Farm On,
Emma — The Suburban Aggie
